I got into entertainment young, hosting events and getting comfortable behind a microphone. Pontins is where I discovered the world of leisure entertainment. I did just about every job under the sun there, working across five of its six parks, and worked my way up from lifeguard to pool manager. I was part of events like the Clubland Weekender, with acts like Scooter and Cascada on stage, and even a pool party with Ultrabeat. Seeing a crowd come together for a weekend like that never left me.
After Pontins, I joined Serco on the West Lancashire leisure contract as a lifeguard and duty manager, and as children’s activities coordinator for the school holidays. I created pool parties so popular that the queues were out the door at two of the contract’s leisure pools, and that August the contract took the highest revenue of the month as a result. Later I spent time working in education. Every one of those roles taught me that looking after people properly, keeping them safe, organised and enjoying themselves, is a responsibility worth taking seriously.
In 2020 I founded PartyVille, and today a team of entertainers brings live entertainment to venues across West Lancashire and beyond. I also created Santa’s Barn in Scarisbrick, a Christmas world that welcomed families through four festive seasons. In 2024 I opened Balloon and Party Warehouse in Ormskirk, a party supplier open to trade and public alike.
Scouting matters to me too. I went from section leader to chairman of a local Scout group, because young people deserve the chance to try new things, belong and grow in confidence.
Shop owner, host, volunteer: the title changes, but the reason doesn’t. I want people to come together and leave with a memory worth keeping.
